It seems like New York does, and California is not going to vote for Bernie either. You are really overestimating the love for Sanders out there.
It is really odd how you discount the reality of Hillary Clinton's victories in some really huge states. Sanders has no play when it comes to states with diverse populations.
If no one really loves Hillary then how can you explain her beating Sanders?

If most independents and half the Democrats do not vote for either candidate, it is conceivable that Trump can win since Republicans are more reliable voters.

Yup. As an independent, I hold no loyalties or obligation to either party and in fact dislike both parties and their stranglehold on this country.
If Trump wins, it's probably what the powers had planned all along. Nothing I do would have changed that.

+1.
I agree.
I used to think the Democrats were still salvageable.
But this campaign has convinced me otherwise.

I am telling ya John, Trump will get a lot of Dem support.
Him being an outsider, shunned by his own party, not taking outside monies will make him attractive across the board.
American's hate the way things work worse than they hate welfare, abortion rules, race relation issues.... voters from both parties.

There is probably an equal amount of Republican people (educated, older, retired or affluent?) that hate Trump. Not predictable as how they would vote; would they crossover for Hillary or stay home?
Trump vs. Hillary campaign may end up to be a bloodbath, Hillary's trust factor vs. Trump's bankruptcies.
What if Trump picks Kasich as running mate? Hillary could be in trouble.
