Ted is runnin'? Oh, THANK YA JESUS!

Here's an interesting article I found on the subject of politics and religion;

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/...nment_20131006

This looks like a blatant violation of the first amendment to me;

http://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-dominionism.html

Oh, very nice. I'm sure Thomas Jefferson would just love this;

http://www.publiceye.org/magazine/v08n1/chrisre1.html

"Bring the world under Gods Law......" Gee, where have I heard that before? Oh, I remember now, that's what Muslims call "Sharia"!

Yeah, I'd say these people intend to become tyrants, far worse than the dreaded Obama could ever dream of............

What is for me the scariest to see, is the look in the eyes of the supporters. The far away in a trance, drone appearance and the crowd. The repeating almost word for word the same mantra, as if programed. No independent thoughts there.

Not the $hit eating grin can't believe they are buying this load of cr@p look on his face.

Barney
Standing when they told to stand, sitting when they are told to sit, singing hymns on command as prescribed in a program handed them at the door, sitting quietly and listening as a man standing above them reads commandments from the indisputable "Holy Scriptures", admonishing them in deep tones that "straying from the path" is a ticket straight to hell........

And that's just your average Sunday morning in your average suburban house of worship, not the true crazies.

Yeah, free thinking lovers of personal liberty if there ever was, Barney.

I thank God, every day, that I have had the wisdom to avoid these people.

Dave

The sad thing about dominionism is that it misses the point of the New Testament. It appears that their view of the Messiah is still of one who will come with swords and chariots (or nukes and tanks) to exercise dominion over the earth. Instead, the Messiah was one who came in peace and sacrificed himself. The Law of the Old Testament was overcome by the message of the New Testament. At least, that I the theology I have learned.

Regards,

D-Ray

No compulsory attire at compulsory event.

Yeah, I know. Rand Paul is no better than Cruz but at least there appear to be some small cracks in the Christianist monolith.

Ted Cruz's campaign is going to be about as successful as Michelle Bachmann's was.

They represent the Lunatic Fringe.

If I were a particularly religious man, I'd say he was the anti-Christ riding a pale horse with Pestilence at his right hand and Death on his left.

Good thing I'm nominally a Methodist. We don't hold with all that crazy nonsense in the Book of Revelations.

Peyote cut with scorpion sweat and adder venom, I'd wager.
