Is it true that you folks have to stand in line for extended amounts of time? I have never waited more than 5 minutes to cast a vote up here.

Out here in Greater Suburbia, I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes.

2008, I went in and about 75 people were inline in front of me. Everybody happy, chatting it up, a fun time actually. If we weren't going to have a set another record heat day I would have gone later.

Just back from voting and the turnout is heavier than 08 and 10. Wednesday ought to be interesting although it could all be over by 9:00PM. If Obama takes Florida, Virginia and Ohio Romney is toast.

I've never had that experience because I've always lived in blue states or at least states without the more fascistic Republicans in charge (NJ). It is, however, becoming more and more prevalent in some red states for highly partisan individuals, like Katherine Harris, Kenneth Blackwell and John Husted, to be placed in charge of elections. One of the results has been inequitable allocation of voting machines so that voters in Democratic leaning districts have too few machines available, resulting in really long waits while Republican leaning districts have plenty of machines and things move along smartly.

Looking at the last minute polling, the President can actually lose all three of those and still break 270. It looks like he may lose Florida and/or Virginia but that's by no means certain. Both those states are essentially dead heats. Ohio looks good for the President, assuming there are no shenanigans.

If he loses VA (where polls close at 7 pm, and they count votes well and quickly there for the most part), Romney will be toast before they even start counting Ohio and Florida. If Obama wins all three (which I doubt), it'll be an epic landslide.
