We are supposed to have checks and balances, but where are they on these appointed Czars? This isn't picking on Obama either, I'm pretty sure Bush had more of them than Obama does. It looks to me like the checks and balances have gotten lost somewhere along the way. What say you?

If surrendering your constitutional rights saves the life of just ONE of the Kings miserable deer, is it not worth it?
I'm surprised they haven't taking to writing you up if you hit one with your car.

If you hit one in KS, you better not finish it off to put it out of it's misery, or take the carcass to eat. They will bust your butt if you do anything that makes that much sense.

I would not recommend that one come pounding on our door and barging in, he just might get a knee in the groin.

Never bring a knee to a gunfight, and they will be packing.

I heard on NPR yesterday that German women can take up to a year for maturnity leave, with pay up to a limit of $37,000. But, the pay doesn't come from the womans employer while on maturnity leave---it comes from the government.

Yep. It's all about Germany (and a number of other advanced nations) having a birth rate less than is necessary to keep their society going (in terms of a replacement generation to pay taxes to support today's retirees, etc.). It's been that way for at least 30 years. It's either have more German babies or allow more Turks to immigrate.

Really, I wonder what kind of damage a 6mm pellet leaving the muzzle at 500 fps would do if you got it in the eye?

A couple of my buddies took their wives out to eat and hit one on their return. Being unarmed, they finished it off by beating it with a tire tool and stabbing it in the neck with a pen knife.
Their wives were horrified.

Back when I was still in my cups and deer hunting, I took a way too far shot once. It was nearly 200 yds and I was shooting a Thompson Center 209x50 magnum load with a Hornady XTP on top of 150 grains of pyrodex. They don't let you run scopes on BP in KS so I was using glow sights. I blew both it's back legs off at the knees, but she took off running on the stumps. I caught up to her when she got fouled in a fence, but of course I hadn't re-loaded the gun yet. I pulled my skinning knife out and cut it's jugular vain. I thought my wife was gonna pass out. I felt like a total ass for about a year on that deal.

Whenever my wife killed the only deer she has ever taken with a firearm as opposed to a motor vehicle, I drug it down the hill to a ravine where there was some water to clean up with and started dressing it.
While she was holding it's hind legs she told me, "I'm certainly glad I studied surgery in school."
And I replied, "So this the way the doctors do it? Hack you open with a Buck knife and then throw your guts in a ditch?"
She was so proud of herself, much more so than the night she totaled her Bonneville by hitting one. Or the other three she has run down.
