Come next fall, students at the University of Texas Austin will protest concealed handguns on campus by strapping “gigantic swinging dildos” to their backpacks.
“The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms, however it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence,” reads the Facebook event created by music student Jessica Jin. “You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class,” the page, which features the hashtag #CocksNotGlocks, continues. “Heaven forbid the penis.” As of early Monday, 3,600 students had indicated online that they would participate in the action, alongside nearly 700 who are “maybe” joining in. The “Campus (DILDO) Carry” event juxtaposes two regulations: the state bill signed this summer that will allow license holders to carry a concealed handgun throughout university campuses (including inside buildings), and the section of the Texas Penal Code which forbids individuals from displaying or distributing obscene materials. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/m...uns-on-campus/ Tee Hee.

This is a larger symptom of angry electorates forcing their elected leaders to do ridiculous things because of the fear that they may be "primaried." The governor of Texas won't see a challenge from the right on this issue.
Of course American society is worse off but that does not seem to be a concern.

Probably so, no open carry of a phallic object allowed. Open carry of firearms, no problem for the carrier, it's up to you to determine whether a potential mortal threat exists or just some asshole making a statement by making folks uneasy.

The problem with guns is that folks who carry them think they should be the first line of defense in any dispute, rather than using the brain.
You have an argument with your neighbor? Rather than having to think the dispute through to a peaceful compromise, just pull out your swinging Glock and kill the bastard. Hey no, we're 'americans, we don't compromise...right? A truly American mindthink. A mind think which exhibits beautifully just how lazy and stupid some Americans are. Although that Americans put up with our rip off medical industry, our political bullshit, and our abusive capitalist system where anything goes as long as it makes money says even more about how lazy and stupid we are.
