The "Show me" motto only holds good for things we want to see.

Now if BlueStreak were a nubile young lass, of the tender young age of perhaps 35, or maybe 40, I would be interested in taking him up on his offer.

Well, at 46, I guess I'm just a tad too old. And I tend to think that seeing my fat, hairy ass in Speedos would permanently damage your eyesight. Not to mention what it would do to your mind......

Thank your lucky stars he did against virtually all his generals advice. Had he and Stalin stayed buddies a little longer world history might be entirely different than it is.
Even then the only thing that stopped him from winning that war was the Russian winter and Hitlers failure to build any heavy bombers with the range to reach past the Ural mountains where Stalin had relocated his factorys.

Yep, and his refusal to increase production of jets, (He thought they were "rediculous" because they had no propellors.), and his rabid anti-Semitism that led to some of Germanys best scientists and engineers fleeing the country, (Or, tragically, ending up dead.).

The only point you raise that gives me pause is; "Had he and Stalin stayed buddies...". Stalin may have been duped into thinking Hitler was his kinda guy, but I don't think Hitler ever had any intention other than to destroy Communism and the Soviet Union. I think the "Non-Aggression Pact" was just another ruse to get Stalin to let his guard down. Why not? It worked with Chamberlain.

Regards,
Dave

Yes Hitler did intend to screw Stalin right out the gate.

Stalin tried repeatedly to get the other European countries to join a pact aimed at controlling Hitlers' Germany. 'We' blew him off completely, as we did the Nazi threat.

He signed with Hitler more or less out of desperation, but once in, he did believe him. I guess the best thing you could say about Stalin is, he was cowardly, but he was also stupid.

I don't remember the dates, but Hitler started saying that they must start the invasion of the USSR before a certain date. Once the date was missed he insisted on going ahead anyway. The various histories I've read say that it was likely he would've been successful if he could've made the date.

Perhaps, as it was his troops had summer wear in a Russian winter, that'll frost your gonads.

I didn't think that Stalin had too many buddies. And I'm sure that he had no illusions about Hitler, right from the get go.

There's a 'highly accurate' (hmmm) historical novel out there (darn my poor memory for details), it describes the last days of Stalingrad.

Gruesome stuff, eating human brains, dumping still-live bodies into giant piles...

Master race indeed.

I agree, in that he did try to contain him. But once he signed the pact he didn't prepare at all. Maybe stupid isn't the right word. Idiotic? Moronic? Help me out here, join the fun
