Rules for Thee, Not for Me

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...224505697.html

The rising crime rate in Los Angeles is a hot-button issue in this year’s race for Los Angeles mayor. And the issue just hit closer to home for one candidate.

Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass said Saturday that her home was burglarized.

“Last night, I came home and discovered that my house had been broken into and burglarized,” the Bass campaign said in a statement. “LAPD was called, and I appreciate their assistance. At this time, it appears that only two firearms, despite being safely and securely stored, were stolen. Cash, electronics and other valuables were not. It’s unnerving and, unfortunately, it’s something that far too many Angelenos have faced.”

So, let me see if I can get this straight:

- The Dems have been telling us there are too many guns in America, yet a Democrat Mayoral candidate in L.A. has guns.

- The candidate, who was at one time reportedly on the list for consideration as a Veep candidate for Biden, claims the guns were "safely and securely stored", but thieves had no problems locating and removing them.

- She probably had firearms training when she was hanging with Castro and the Venceremos Brigade in Cuba.

- Headscratcher - the thieves took the guns and nothing else, even though this "former" communist lives in a $2MM home. Really? Some might think that this sounds like an inside job. Interesting that one of the central themes of the L.A. mayoral race is crime.

Absolutely fascinating the various hypocrisies that can be found in this story. Gonna keep an eye on this one.

'I'm just not going to leave': New book reveals Trump vowed to stay in White House

Rules don't apply to your Dear Leader, it appears. BTW, how long, do you think, before he's behind bars, where he rightly belongs?

...speaking of deflections...

So, when do you think your Dear Leader will be behind bars?

A feeble attempt at whataboutism and deflection from the liar, the cheat, the crook and the traitor.

BTW, her home valued at $2MMis quite average for the urban areas of CA such as the LA area, SD, Bay Area and now even Sacto. Will be impossible to find a single family home for under $1MM, average homes are all around $1.5MM

As for calling her a Commie, that's a typical fascist comment.

No, she was a commie. working to promote communism and communist ideals in Cuba.

And no, "whataboutism" would mean there's an anti-gun conservative somewhere who got his guns stolen, and I'm ignoring that instance to talk about this instance. And it's actually YOUR post that's the deflection for bringing - I'm assuming you're referring to - Trump, since my post had nothing to do with Trump. So....

Deflection alert! Nice try, and thanks for playing.

The objective of that group was to challenge U.S. policies towards Cuba, including our embargo against Cuba and its impact upon the Cuban people. One needn't necessarily be a communist to think that our policies toward Cuba are stupid and perhaps counterproductive. Indeed the efforts of the Venceremos Brigade are coordinated today by the Pastors for Peace.

That said, having been a communist, communist sympathizer or just an anti-Cuban-embargo activist 50 years ago (as someone in their early 20's in the mid '70's) is far more benign than being a fascist or even a MAGAMoron today. Look at all the MAGA Republicans who went to hobnob with Putin in Moscow in recent years or who praise Viktor Orban today. They're far more dangerous than someone who was a disillusioned, idealistic California college kid 50 years ago.

BS. Communism is one of the most, if not the most, destructive forms of government in the modern world. Nothing compares. Not even close. What a stupid comment you made.

You'd prefer fascism?

Speaking of stupid comments, Ms. Gish.

Translation: Whell likes fascism.

Seriously though, communism is not the greatest threat to our republic today. Indeed, it is only practiced in 4 countries in the entire world (China, Cuba, Laos, and Vietnam) and it is not endorsed, practiced, praised or emulated by either of the major American political parties. Fascism, however, is at the intellectual core of Trumpism and the modern-day American conservative movement and is a profound threat to our republic.

Moreover, my larger point was that Karen Bass exhibiting communist sympathies 50 years ago as an idealistic California college kid is meaningless compared to the GOP's overt embrace of fascism today. Hell, neoconservatism, which was the basis of Republican foreign policy for several decades, was founded by former Marxists and communists (Kristol, Podhoretz, Decter, and Glazer).

Your knowledge of history and political science is truly laughable. The more profound you try to be, the more ignorant you sound.
