Again you exist in extremes.

There is no absolute; there is always adjustments.

Overall environmental carrying capacity is very much a factor for sustainability.

That is right. That is exactly right. The earth will get through it and go on pretty much as if has forever as a self sustaining organism. It is the survival of the human race which is in question.

Especially the United States when it goes belly up financially. America will go on but in what capacity is also in question. We could become a military state. Oh fun!
