China developed first hydrogen powered tram.

Something will emerge.

I believe China with its huge investment in science and technology, its large
interface with western systems will become an innovative giant.

Maybe the development of the first hydrogen powered tram is a sign of things to come.

China is making huge advances in clean energy technology. They intend to "own" the field and it looks like they probably will.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we have Jim Inhofe in charge of the Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works............

The main thing needed for that sort of thing is 'density of use.' China can definitely provide that.

They are allowed to, they don't have the oil magnets to answer to as we do here.

Hydrogen is just another energy storage mode, like a spring, as it isn't mined or otherwise gathered in the wild without substantial energy input. The hydrogen has to come from somewhere and the process at least as efficient as other energy sources to be practical. Countries with excesses of geothermal energy and water, like Iceland, might be able to do that in spite of the relative inefficiencies. China? Dunno.

Important point. The 'hydrogen tram' is likely coal-powered.
