Selfishly, I hope it stops in northern California by tomorrow. My wife, youngest son and I fly to SFO tomorrow morning and are doing a whirlwind trip of a bunch of national parks (Yosemite, Kings Canyon/Sequoyah, Death Valley, Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Arches) over the next 2 weeks before he starts his summer internship (construction management on a large rehab of Johns Hopkins Hospital).

Cool! Have lunch at the Ahwahnee Lodge, Pat. If you haven't been to Kings Canyon before, prepare to have your mind blown away.

Luckily wife turned off the sprinklers yesterday. But had a near disaster at work. We had a few minutes of very heavy downpour like nothing I have ever seen in CA and water found its way to the main breaker panel. Three breakers from this feed the subpanels. One breaker shorted out and imploded and then later found out that there was water seepage in one other breaker. These are not breakers one finds in the hardware stores either. One is 300A and the other 200A at 480V 3 phase.

Luckily our electricians responded late evening and even had their supply house on call. We finally got everything started up at 11:00 PM. I am sure the electrician's invoice is going to be hefty but still glad that we got much needed rain. Of course we will need to deal with some irate customers this morning.
