Texas has lured toyota away from california and new york city

A direct result of liberal Democrat economic policies in California. Soon the only ones to support the state taxes will be John Q Public, one problem though nobody will be working.

TEXAS HAS LURED TOYOTA AWAY FROM CALIFORNIA AND NEW YORK CITY

Of course it's not as if Perry was personally involved in Toyota's decision to uproot approximately 2,000 individuals among its 3,837 California-based workers.

"This was never about Governor Perry courting us," said Toyota's chief executive for North America, Jim Lentz, who praised Texas' general business climate in defending his company's move. "I talked to him on the phone today for the first time."

Because they can guarantee minimum wage and no worker union protection from abuse. Go Texas, and take Bangladesh with you.

You mean like those awesome retirement benefits your mom got from working for the University of California at San Francisco that you were bragging about?

From the Seattle Times article:

Quote:
"When you look at the whole package, it's difficult to be a business here," lamented Torrance Mayor Frank Scotto, whose community on the edge of the Pacific will suffer as the jobs migrate to Texas.
So says "Frankie the Hook" Scotto, towing company magnate and Republican.

Quote:
Perry, who made two visits to California to lure employers to his state, said Texas offered Toyota $40 million in incentives from the taxpayer-funded Texas Enterprise Fund.
Of course, this had nothing to do with Toyota's decision, nothing at all.

A victory in the race to the bottom is not something to celebrate.

A damn shame!

There soon will be no difference between Texan and Mexican wages.

Given that Toyota management are a bunch of chauvinists they should feel right at home with each other. Ha, I wonder where the 'famous' Toyota quality will be heading.
I spent a month in Dallas one week.

I wonder how the Texas taxpayers feel about $40 Million in taxpayer money being transferred to a foreign corporation? Texas has pioneered trickle up economics.

I agree D, but it has to be said, if folks weren't thick enough to buy them the money wouldn't be going back to Japan regardless of incentives.

Besides they need the money to help pay their billion dollar fine!
