It has probably changed as it's been 31 years but back in 1983 it was a 0.8% surcharge on taxanble income and OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) was $54/month for a family. The other fun part was you simply presented your card, here every time a small forest is cut down to provide all the effing forms that have to be filled out.

It was back in 1983 but one thing it did not have was the vast disparity between income. CEOs did not get those obscene salaries.
