Yep. We stopped buying what WE make a while back because we thought the people who made American products (us) were lazy and overcompensated and that shifting to overseas production would save us lots of money (At the expense of our own industrial base.). But, it's all someone elses fault that all of the "good jobs" (manufacturing) are gone and we have little money now.

(It's because retail is doing a very poor job of replacing manufacturing as an equitable employment source. But, for heavens sake don't tell any Republicans that. They'll accuse you of all sorts of heinous malfeasance, up to and including treason.)

Well, we sorta did. Except we punished the communist world by giving them our jobs.

I still don't trust China anymore than I trust Russia. The fact that (ostensibly former) Communist leaders (Think--Putin) in both countries seem to cling to power in various ways, tells me that the war isn't quite over yet.

Read "The Art of War" and you might understand that Chinese strategy can be very long term. Even if the face of Chinese politics is not as "Communist" as before, they are still bent on taking our spot at the top. What face will they show then?
