I'd be just as pissed if, say, McConnell the turtle did it. Congress critters have only one goal and that is to stay in office. Eight years is long enough for anyone to remain in public office IMHO. Opposition viewpoints ought be sought wrt government and not ridiculed.

You can never eliminate people from using their own money to influence politicians. Of course you can try; however, that usually results in the incumbent having an overwhelming advantage. Perhaps, if term limits existed, then your plan might be more viable.
