Frank Lautenberg Shows His True Colors
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid..._the_rich.html
Does anyone know the color that represents avarice? Maybe what color represents arrogance? Or the color of a demigod? When the right gets concerned about the left in positions of power, its these types of folks that give us some serious concerns.

Did you read past the headline?
What's so friggin' outrageous about:
Its a tough fight but we've got to eliminate the waste. We've got to eliminate the fraudulent practice.
How dare he.

I read the whole article. If I pull a single sentence out of a quote, it is likely inoffensive standing on its own. If I read a quote in its entirety, when there's a bit more meat to chew on, and look at it in the context of other things the individual has said and done, the message is clear, and their intent is laid bare.
"There is that opportunity along the way, but there's another place to get your money. That's to get it from people like me who made money from the infrastructure, the human infrastructure that the United States has. And we ought to pay more in our taxes for the values, for the things that we've got as a result of the extraordinarily middle class of this country.
It's offending [sic] that say ok 'you can't take care of your family, too bad.' Go to Warren Buffett. You heard him say the other day that the richest man in the America, if not the second or third one, he said that we ought to pay more for the privileges that we wealthy have in this country. Its a tough fight but we got to eliminate the rich. We've got to eliminate the fraudulent practice. We've expanded things that have no value."
Its pretty clear to me what he's saying....

I'd say it's more the case that you would have liked to have him say something that outrageous, but since he didn't, you'll gladly stick words in his mouth.

We can agree to disagree I guess. I posted the whole quote above. I'm not sticking anything in anyone's mouth. I'll leave that type of behavior to our 42nd President....

"UPDATE: This post has been corrected to accurately quote Sen. Lautenberg saying "We've got to eliminate the waste," not "we got to eliminate the rch." The transcript on the YouTube video is inaccurate."
You must have read the post too soon, Whell. Now that above correction is immediately below the video, the meaning is changed considerably. The emphasis is mine. The retraction is all yours.

D-Ray

Immediately forthcoming, I'm sure........
Meanwhile, fellow New Jerseyite Chris Christie is hopping mad. Well, probably not literally hopping. In yet another misinterpretation of Lautenberg's remarks, Gov. Christie understood the quote to be "We got to eliminate the waist."
