Steve Jobs Dead

Steve Jobs has died. A sad day for all of the technology community. His numerous contributions to the computing industry shaped the industry. His significance will not be soon forgotten.

RIP Steve

A sad end to his story.....

I never cared for the way he did business, but I sure do admire him for what he accomplised and did for the world.

Wow...that was quick. I had a feeling it wasn't going to be long though.

There is no doubt that the man was a genius. Have to give him props for the way he went out too. He didn't look for sympathy. I imagine he knew that his days were numbered when he resigned as CEO of Apple. The man leaves a legacy.

Regards,

D-Ray

It seems as if there should be a Hall Of Fame for people like him.

We need to start another thread about who would be in your hall of fame, but I don't want to interrupt a thread that lets people pay their respects.

Regards,

D-Ray

Didn't know the man myself.

But by the way that everyone is carrying on, you would think that it was Cheney that had died.

I'm sorry...you're right. It just occured to me that he might be forgotten with the pace of technology and all.

Your hall of fame comment was entirely appropriate to this thread. I just think that its members would be an interesting thread topic on its own. I'm gonna start it in off topic.

Regards,

D-Ray

That's a great idea. I think Steve was well liked even with his somewhat aggressive personal management style. I can think of only a few that could eclipse Jobs as a visionary. Everything he did was innovative and trend setting. Steve was never technologically skilled, like Woz, and was never a programmer, like Gates, but he had the vision and the passion to market. In a way, he sort of marketed a style as much as the products.
