Do you lock your doors?

Myself, not as a rule. Pretty much only when I go on vacation, very seldom while I'm at home. I have taken to locking my shop...really slowed my neighbor from borrowing things without asking.

He's a great guy, but he doesn't understand how some people react when they notice things are missing. Must have been raised different.

Enquiring minds want to know,

Chas

Only when I'm not home or when I go to bed.

Most of the time. But, I have left for work, and when I return 10 hours later found the door standing wide open.....and nothing has been touched. And I live in a crappy neighborhood. Guess I'm just lucky.

Locking a door only keeps honest folks from entering. But, I lock them before bed. That way, a thief will wake me trying to enter if the dogs don't eat him in the yard first.

I'm afraid I do. The drug heads will break in for whatever they can get. Usually look for an easy mark so a decent security door and lock will keep them out of the house. Tried to break in through the window of the garage once, but were too unmotivated to actually crawl in. Wife left the 4Runner unlocked the other night and the deadbeats took all her change from the ash tray. Made a mess of things, but didn't take anything else. I can't even think about putting an after market stereo in a car though. Would be gone in a few months. Hell, had the license plates stole once. God damn drugs.

Yeah, at night, & if I'm gonna be gone longer than a few minutes "run to town". Cars unlocked at nite, the cops say I oughta lock 'em, but if they're not, MAYBE they won't trash 'em, just take the couple or 3 bucks' worth of change & go on. But yeah, we have dopers around, too, & unfortunately, I'm fairly close to a bunch of welfare housing they built back in the '60s. Thank you, LBJ, for all yer Great Society bullshit...

If I did not lock em, someone could break in and steal me.

My wife is really big on locking the doors, even though we live in suburbia. She sleeps days, and even locks the bedroom door.

Regards,

D-Ray

Routinely since there have been a grooup of people who seem to enjoy locating and beating up on senior citizens in the area.
