David Brooks opines on Obama's foreign policy

A NYTimes conservative, but a conservative nonetheless, states:

It won’t help him win many votes this year, but it should be noted that Barack Obama has been a good foreign policy president. He, Vice President Joseph Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the rest of his team have created a style of policy making that is flexible, incremental and well adapted to the specific circumstances of this moment.

Only the most rabid NeoCon might believe that Dubya had a more effective foreign policy than Obama, but he would have a very difficult time putting forth an effective argument for that case.

B-b-b-ut, he bowed to the Japanese Emporer, and he, gasp!, apologized.

It was reported at the time that after GHWB gifted the Japenese PM as he was being attended to while laying on the floor said: "Just roll me under the table; I'm sure I'll be fine in the morning." And GHWB is indeed a gentleman.

The twelve years of GHWB and Clinton were a fine time (not joking) for me to be late teens to early thirties.

In hindsight, I'd have taken either candidate from '92 for four more years in 2000.

GHWB was a gentleman and he picked an excellent cabinet. Quite a contrast with his idiot son.
