The Republican party leadership is still thinking they are able to control the extreme
elements. Long after Trump is gone from the scene this party has told the rest of us what what. They are not going to stop until having complete control. Happy to use up and discard when no longer needed supporters.

The problem is the extremists may well take control and go after the old guard.

The GOP is against just about everything the Democrats in general and Biden in particular want to do. Their standard BS is "the do nothing Democrats" that they pepper their sheep with. They don't want it seen that the Democrats can do worthwhile things for Americans. Back when I worked retail people that didn't have anything of value to offer customers knocked the competitor's product. The GOP hasn't had anything much to offer except slogans and sayings for long time. Right now hate and hypocrisy is their stock in trade.
