You know, I hear this all the time. While certainly true in the inner cities of America, I'm not so sure it's true in middle-class America. Moreover, getting a Glock with 30-round mags may even be more difficult.
By your logic Pete, we shouldn't even bother outlawing murder. If someone wants to kill someone else, they'll find a way. If a law against murder won't stop murder, why have such a law at all?

I seldom frequent a drinking establishment as I've noticed they're full of drunks.
I prefer to stay home and drink with my dog, she's quite sociable and even tempered.
