Would there be any interest in

a complete rebuild and modding of some big tube amps in here? I'm thinking about doing a set of Allen 75s pretty soon, from stem to stern. I was just thinking this might be a nice little quiet spot if one or two guys wanted to follow along and or make suggestions. Any interest at all?

You know I'm ready to follow along and build mine with ya.

You check out that other spot I linked ya to that might be better suited?

Stock they use a 12AY7 into an EF86, a couple 6SN7s and KT88s for outputs. To me, that's too much gain up front, so I eliminate the crappy 12AY7 and run the signal straight into the low noise pentode EF86 (6267 US number). I think the two I'm getting are all Acro iron from stem to stern, so they should be good amps if built right. They are rated at 70 watts, which is a bit of a stretch for a pair of 88s. I have a pair of mono Stromberg Carlsons (AP50s) that are rated at 50 watts running 4 6L6s per amp. I'll probably do those after the Allens. Here's a thread about them from DIY. Hope you don't mind Ron, you sold these didn't you?

Cool. All the tubes you listed are absent from my hoard though.
Maybe down the road we could build a monster useing 6LQ6's, 6LR6's, or some other sweep(?).

I have a few of those.
