Free Speech, Right to Privacy and Right to Bear Arms.
How is it that the Second Amendment is getting all the attention and unrest. By those who are then comfortable all the while as attacks on our other personal freedoms happen?
The attack on free speech as in Citizens United allowing unlimited silent funding of elections. But this seems to be of no interests by the gun lovers. Now the Right of Privacy, who can argue that with the advances in technologies nothing is a secret any more. Tracking of ones cell phone by apps, cookies from surfing and Facebook to mention just a few quick ones.
But the right to own a weapon of mass destruction is a God given right never to be looked at. Just how advanced of a society are we?
When other countries have faced issues like this, they have chosen to limit gun rights all the while strengthening other personal rights.

That's easy, Barney. Neither the right to privacy or free speech have a lobbying organization stuffing the pockets of Congress, nor one that has succeeded in concocting a myth as to what the 2nd Amendment means (i.e., the ability to overthrow the government).

I know, but wanted to point out the fact owning a gun does not equate to other more important freedoms. Freedoms under attack everyday having a greater effect on our personal freedoms. But one can not be considered selfish in wanting those freedoms, where the other argument is purely one!

The reason is that when they approved NoKnock they tore up the 4th and 6th amendments so it is too late to defend them.

My brother said, "The second amendment is the most important one of them all. Without that you lose the rest of them."
My response?
"You have been losing the rest of them, as the NRA keeps you preoccupied with protecting the 2nd."
Why haven't these folks figured out that they can keep their guns and still lose their freedom anyways?
Regards,
Dave

Some would see the implied intimidation of gun ownership trumping that of free speech. I don't, having free speech with a right to privacy included is what made our country strong all these years.
Was it not in general mostly overall peaceful protest swaying public sentiments that ended the Vietnam War? Do we really want armed mobs in the streets upset at the government? Like in other countries? Plus does anyone deep in their hearts really believe a few with small arms stand a chance against our Government. Especially after watching Nova last night on PBS about the "Rise of the Drones" .... http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/militar...he-drones.html
