...and beautiful farmhouses.

Look at my avatar - this farmhouse was built in 1570.

A lot of precision engeneering came from the Black Forest. SABA, Dual, PE, Thorens, this is finest Hifi gear. And do not forget the cuckoo clocks...

"Becker" (Pforzheim) - finest car stereo.

Picture shows 1977 Becker car stereo in a Mercedes-Benz

The name changed into "Harman Becker Automotive Systems".

Bob it is new to me that Bier is part of the precision engeneering industry. But the Schwarzwälder Bier is actually GREAT!

Bier came first, 1516 (at least the beer which contains nothing else than water, yeast, hop and malt > "Reinheitsgebot").

Bayer's Aspirin came in 1899.

It makes sense to take some Aspirin when you intend to drink more than about 3 litres beer. You might feel better next morning.

Back to the topic.

Here you see my late Marantz 1300DC with brand new woodcase then (2008). The amp was pretty heavy, more than 70 lbs. Unfortunately it was badly designed - the bottom was closed which caused a lack of heat circulation. So it started to burn and became a "Totalschaden" ("write-off" finnbow?)
