No doubt this undercut any moral authority the Church may have held or claimed, and rightly so for the centuries long betrayal of trust of it's faithful. At least this Pope is attempting to accept responsibility and clean house.

It is a little odd hearing a Republican bitch about mixing religion and politics. Mixing religion and politics is the foundation of American conservatism. Listen to all of the GOP candidates from Carson to Cruz to Rubio to Bush to Kasich to even Trump. They all wear the religion on their sleeves, or at least pretend to. They just hate to have their bluff called. The beliefs of today's GOP, while overtly embracing Christianity, go against many of the fundamental tenets of the faith. Though I personally don't like mixing religion and politics, I enjoy watching Trump being called out for his bullshit.

So you think all conservatives are evangelicals? I bet you still think Trump has no chance either.
I'm falling out of my chair laughing at you .

Nope, but all Republican Presidential candidates go out of their way to appeal to evangelicals by proclaiming their faith, even if they seemingly have none (e.g., Trump quoting 2 Corinthians). What's amazing is how many in the GOP base buy the bullshit these charlatans are selling.

Bam. And this Pope may present himself to be more human that his predecessors, but in the end, his only real goal is to preserve another dynasty. I could never bring myself to follow any spiritual leader regardless of their lofty perch.

So what? Sounds like you found God today with the Pope preaching his BS on the border.
What's BS is how you think you're better than Trump. Do you believe you're better than Cuban since it looks like he's fishing for the VP spot?

It's noteworthy that Pope Pius XI has been widely criticized for not speaking out against impending Fascism in Italy in the '30's and now Francis is being criticized for speaking out a Fascist wannabee.

I'm not religious, but I enjoy watching Trump taking heat. It makes him all the more entertaining.
