Rutger Bregman speaks truth to power.....

""'This is about saving capitalism': the Dutch historian who savaged Davos elite""

""“This is about saving capitalism,” he said. “Most innovation has come about through government spending. During the golden age period [after the second world war], there were way higher taxes on wealth, property, inheritance and top incomes. That’s what we need today if we are going to tame this beast called capitalism.”"

He is right. Capitalists who get to keep all the profits become too profit-driven, take stupid risks in hope of double-digit returns. The who thing benefits from the damping down effect of high marginal taxation. Gets them to focus on other values.

Plus the added weight being given to the rich's opinions and solutions. For no other reason then being wealthy. There are plenty of examples of rich making very stupid decissions, just like everyone else.

Would yo go to Bezos for a Bypass?
We evidently listen to Coal magnates on climate issues to the planet's harm.

Where the rich have only profits behind their thinking, not losses in the form of taxes.
