There are legalities regarding political fund raising, and spending & accounting for those funds.

To say or imply that it's all a scam is just an excuse for saying that abuses can't or shouldn't be enforced and/or that it doesn't matter & everyone is dirty. I call BS on that.

Call it what you want...the enormous cost of campaigns/electioneering puts the average voter on the back burner. It is easy for corporations or big money donors to buy out the system.
When a representative goes to congress his/her priority is the big money donors. Lobbying is the art of bribery.
