Here is where we get into the matter of perception, specifically a cop's perspective, which is, I saw a threat.

It is evident that the law and what is absurdly termed the 'justice establishment' are in most cases unwilling to hold any officer accountable for any violence against an underclass person.

Cleveland Reaches Deal With DOJ on Policing: Report

The Justice Department's report spared no one in the police chain of command. The worst examples of excessive force involved patrol officers who endangered lives by shooting at suspects and cars, hit people over the head with guns and used stun guns on handcuffed suspects.

The investigation was the second time in recent years the Justice Department has taken the Cleveland police to task over the use of force. But unlike in 2004, when the agency left it up to local police to clean up their act, federal authorities intervened this time by way of a consent decree. Several other police departments in the country now operate under federal consent decrees that involve independent oversight.

Only time would tell if this brings about any change. Zeke, feel free to comment.

I was at a family gathering this morning and my brother-in-law that has been a Cop for over 30 years was also there. The subject of this shooting came up and interestingly enough he agrees with your take on it, ie that the guy is an idiot. So I guess there are a few sane cops out there.

Guess I was right..... There ARE good cops as well as bad cops out there.
