What has been overlooked by many is that Trump became the presumptive head of the party concurrent with his becoming the party's presumptive candidate. He will be the leader coming out of the convention. Yesterday was indeed the end of his Night of the Long Knives in that it now appears he has the wherewithal to unite the party behind his candidacy. The primaries were his elimination of the competition, after all he did murder them. In addition, as party leader his original brown shirt base has reassumed it's traditional party role and thus marginalized. There's a good chance that by early November memory of Trump's brown shirts will be a fuzzy/vague one for many independents and a significant number of Democrats.

How many of Trump's brown shirts are going to realize they've been duped and how long will it take?
The thing about Trump's "Brown Shirts" is that they won't go quietly. If Trump's elected they'll have a pocketful of IOU's they'll call in. If Trump loses, they'll feel cheated and further alienated by entrenched power. Either way, there will be trouble.

Tell me something guy.......

I was listening to his ideas on reducing debt a few days ago. Loan extensions, printing more money............Blah, blah, blah..

What sounds new to you in any of his ideas?

I think this clown has no idea how to run a government and his persona is every bit as fake and cheesy as the WWE. I think this guy is nothing more than a showboat, pandering to people who confuse entertainment with reality. Not surprising, given his T.V. job.

I always enjoyed this site for the knowledge I could gleam here. You I particularly enjoyed for you caustic yet profound take on things.

Leaving the humor out of your posts and taking aim for personal gratification without regard to substantive matter is not something I favor.

I don't know.... maybe I just need accept that time is change and that the people I respected are not as I perceived them?

Foo. It's not tribal. It's just election season.

You've noticed how the Hillary/anti-Hillary factions are fussing at each other?

What serious proposal has Trump made that you think will actually work?

I don't hear anything but bluster, bragging and insults coming from his mouth.

He'll "make great deals". Okay, Ed...... What are they?

Ed, I don't see anything coming from Trump but a slick sales pitch and a tendency to insult and belittle people as he complains about people doing the same to him.

Beyond that, there is little to nothing. He's a vapid cloud of noise, quips and slogans.

That's serious. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm simply saying what's on my mind.

Trump is like the guy who sells "genuine" Rolex watches out of his trunk for $50, telling me it's a "great deal" he's worked out for me. A street hustler gone big time.

He's full of hooey and I'm not buying.

Fair enough.

I see much of the same.

AS you know, I have though whoever the GOP nominee he would be the next president... since last June.

I see Donald as just another candidate, with way more charisma. Many take offense to his "style." I personally love it.

Last night I saw Hill campaigning in 08 on my TV. She was a much stronger candidate back then. That Hillary, this year against TRump, maybe she could win.

Trumps wall? Am I stupid? It's not gonna happen and I don;t want it too. He'll talk to Mexico and announce some concessions (things that were already in the works) and announce victory over Mexico and applaud his "progress." The wall is no longer needed because of his great negotiating skills.

Pro life and pro gun, he'll just stay silent on.

South Korea, Japan, he'll meet with them and say everything is fixed.

Hard to argue with him on the middle east. Stay the hell out militarily except for going after ISIS. None of this two front war in Syria.

Anyway, I am not here to sell Trump. I am here to discuss and learn. This is the first time I have ever come to this forum for knowledge and been repelled in wacky, emotional rhetoric instead.

We used to be better than that.

To be fair, I saw it change two year ago or so here. One or two new posters came in with foul mouths and now it's the norm. It now seems accepted to be left wing loons instead of considered posters.

I am speaking of any particular poster but things did change here.... less knowledge being shared, more anger and vulgarity.

peace brother
