There may well never in reality be a completion of this. Disney will in essence continue on as before. Yet the "cult" will claim a victory anyway. Facts and the truth matter not, for it is the narrative.

There are probably all sorts of political reasons for this, from the Governor's perspective. One thing interesting about this whole thing is that the special district was created to entice Disney to locate in that state. It's kinda like the 40 million in tax relief Trump got when he built Trump Tower. In both cases, the government was enticing construction to increase their general tax base in the area (use unused/underused land and increase use of land around it).

The difference is that the Trump Tower deal had a time limit while the florida one didn't. It was granted decades ago. It long ago served its purpose and such enticement is not only no longer necessary, but things may be getting a bit OVER-developed.

Though it sent a clear message that the Governor, to protect the progeny of his state's citizens from disinformation about sex and gender at way too young an age, is willing to take steps to let businesses know that getting directly involved in the state's politics may invoke the new "go woke, go broke" sentiment exploding all over the country.

I don't know what you mean by "cult". I also don't know what facts you are talking about. I'm very interested in facts, but less interested in labels and disinformation. e.g. calling the law that started all this the "don't say gay" law. That is absurd on the face of it. It's like passing a law protecting children in grade school and earlier from foul language IN THE CLASSROOM BY ADULTS, and calling it the "Don't say f*** law".
