You are fooled by the volume of yelling they do about a tiny few sex crimes. There seems to be something (a hit and run or a sex crime) every two or three years. Not quite a crime wave.

I have no doubt the number of incidents with US personnel is dwarfed by 'domestic' incidents, on this island with 1.4 million inhabitants. INHO it is racist xenophobia on the part of the Japanese that makes each case 1000x horrible for them.
