I've been so labelled too. My family and friends would find that highly amusing.

It was kind of like moving from southwest Virginia to New Orleans back in 1975. I was considered a Yankee in New Orleans, notwithstanding Virginia being the Confederate capitol and the birthplace of its military commander. Then, I found out that anybody north of I-10 was considered a Yankee.
