It was worth every penny. There will still be a few ribs waiting for me when I get home tonight. Kansas City has a fine craft brewery here too (Boulevard). You really need to make the trip sometime.

Hmmmm.... Ribs.... but tornados. Ribs win!
I came through the airport on my way to Sedalia for work a few years back, didn't see much but the airport was clean. Had a peanut butter burger in Sedalia.
I also spent 2 weeks there as a kid but didn't see much of the town. Worked landscaping there, the neighborhood we worked in was very nice, felt like old money, I remember the sidewalks had the street names imbedded in stone on intersections, very classy.

I really like KC. Very nice city - good food, music and architecture. St Louis doesn't really float my boat though.
On the subject of ribs being a poor man's food, it brings up a ribs story that I've told countless times:
In 1980, while living in Fulda, Germany, our Wednesday night poker club was interrupted mid-evening by a surprise from the kitchen - 20 kg (44#) of ribs brought out by the host. He had heard that they were sold as scrap to anybody who wanted them at the slaughterhouse in town. The price was DM 1 per KG, or about $8 for 44 pounds). The host (an Army dentist) then became known in perpetuity as "Doctor Ribs" and the poker club became the "Fulda Poker Club and Culinary Arts Society."

Goat is some good stuff. Grilled baby kid (Cabrito) at upscale Mexican restaurants is awesome, as is goat curry at a Caribbean place.

You're gettin' pretty close to my stomping grounds whenever you make it to Sedalia.
