We maintained a presence is the Middle East by moving our troops from Saudi Arabia into Iraq. We went to Iraq because we could justify it under international law.

Shrub's statement is typical of politician's who don't wish to expose their real agenda.

Besides, Americans love to feel noble whenever they go to war.
