Future of the USA after we are gone...

With the inability, unwillingness, even tribal divisions added a selfish nature in our country.
Are we to workout our differences in a civil manner?
I hope so.
Still arguing a civil war fought over slavery a hundred fifty plus years ago. Many seemingly proud of the history of oppression. We also have the past and continuing mistreatment of the very first inhabitants. Racial division and treatment of immigrants today and yesterday.
The unequal distribution of wealth and privileges growing ever more vast. The haves and the have nots with the later growing in numbers. Angry and feeling helpless.

We need look at history to see the ending of this.
Not a pretty one.

There are two eternal questions. One is "Why can't we all just get along?" The other is "Why can't we just kill them?"

We have to keep working on the first one, or more and more people will be asking the second.

When us middle aged white dudes, Boomers and Gen X, get out of the way the "more compassionate" younger generations will hopefully right the ship. Hopefully our generations hate will erode as this happens.

Not sure if I want to hold my breath on this one...

Recall that the boomers in 60's were the peace and love generation? That experiment has been done. Didn't work.

The seemingly ease diversion, distractions from tiktok FB Youtube video games cell phone wifi web browsing ....

Then add the propaganda conspiracy laden media making the consumption of any news a ordeal. Work required along with time away from the before mentioned time spent with cell/computer activities. A big percentage give up on following current events closely. Choosing to spend the time with their devices.

This fact has not been over looked by they who want to control the masses.

And of course I way over generalized when I called it the peace and love generation. There are always people on the other side of that fence. Lots of people. Actually Easy Rider, including the ending, goes a good way to sum the whole thing up.

Old age, and the cynicism of a lifetime of seeing all of the absolutely fucking rotten things people do to each other, is not exclusive to any one generation. If they live long enough, all people of all generations will get old, and far too many of them will replace the optimism of youth with the cynicism of age when they finally do get old.

As I age I have tried my best to keep the optimism alive........
