Interesting read- Bailout Nation by Barry Ritholtz

Just getting into it, but it sure seems an interesting read so far.

Anyone read it?

Seems a lot of common sense in it. Likely it will be branded as socialist propaganda then!

What's yours about, Rob.

Think I started it last year and got upset at the greed and corruption and put it down.

I'm not going to be able to keep up with all the good books offered up from the B Moyers show.

not read it, but, in a couple of weeks I have a long flying day from Virginia to SW Colorado, and I'm looking for something good for my brain. Let us know what you think of it.

Those at the very top of the economic ladder have developed and used political muscle to dramatically cut their taxes, deregulate the financial industry, keep corporate governance lax and labor unions hamstrung.[3] Instead of a rising tide lifting all boats, the authors write, "yachts are rising, but dinghies are largely staying put" in America, and "there is reason to suspect that the dinghies are staying put in part because the yachts are rising." Wikipedia

Not to mention the dinghies have reach the end of their manufacturers estimated useful life and are developing leaks at an ever increasing rate. While the yachties have been reaping the benefits of de-unionizing the labor force to force cheap wages on their maintenance crews.

Buccaneer economics at it's nastiest. Buckets of blood and a hearty Yo HO HO and a bottle of rum.

Thing that get's me is there sure are a lot of super rich Liberals out there. I'd almost bet more "Liberals" than "Conservatives" in the super rich category.

So, how does that work out. Where is the out rage for those folks?
