I tend to think they're going to screw us out of every last penny they can get their hands on, and then beg, borrow or steal to get even more. All the while trying to make us feel guilty for getting in their way. This is why they want the regulators and unions out of the way, and why "the love of money" is evil (As your Bible tells you.).----Because greed is never satisfied, it keeps going until only the most ruthless among us have everything and we end up fighting over their table scraps.
I don't understand how you can see it any other way.

Really? It is quite obvious to me, he has had a big gulp of the kool aid.

They get elected as US Senator or Representative and empower themselves to take money away from the folks who earned it.

When you look up taxes in the dictionary, I think that's pretty much the definition.

Yup, this explains the treatment of conservatives and the Tea Party activist by the ruling class.

Pretty much sums up the sentiments of those who tore down the Berlin Wall.

Perhaps not. But it is a great deal of fun, and I believe it's good that the "Captains of Capitalism", occassionaly get to hear what people really think of them.
I will have to disagree with you on one point, though, Pete. I think their own behaviour brings it on and they bear sole blame. The Dems just have the audacity to say what others won't.

Business' allegiance is to the bottom line. If they think investing/hiring will improve their bottom line, they'll do it. If not, they won't. The question is whether they think a change in the House will materially impact their bottom line. Some might, others won't.
I'd be thrilled if the economy miraculously goes gangbusters after the election. You can't change the fact that both parties will claim credit or assign blame. But if people get back to work, we'll be better off for it.

Finn I am beginning to think the bailout was wrong, a damn good depression and the collapse of the big banks might just be what the country needs, might knock some sense into people.

Talk about growing the economy by hamstringing business?

My company seems to have missed out on the stimulus money gravy train you mention, as have most. Regardless, if business activity picks up, it will have less to do with which political party is in charge and everything to do with whether or not there is clarity on tax policy and pending regulation.

Really? I wish someone had told me of my elite standing much sooner. I sure as hell wouldn't still be turning a wrench, you can bet your ass on that.
I'm part of "the ruling class" because I've seen how easily people are manipulated with quasi-religious flagwaiving horseshit, lying amateur historians feeding them loads of crap and convincing them that they "Hate America" if they don't follow the flock, propagandists scaring them with visions of Gestapo stormtroopers kicking their doors in...................
Please. Go "Teabag for Jesus" and spare me your BS.

I found out that I am also a member of the 'elite' when I took one of those tests, the only question I could answer in the affirmative was"Did you ever live in a town of less than 25,000 population". Heck on a good summer day it probably hit 1500.
I did not know the name of some NASCR driver, well whoopee shit, other questions of a similar ilk. Gee, are the only two choices elite or redneck? How about a conservative free thinker with as Poirot would say some of those 'little grey cells'.
