Under oath and under fire, Donald J. Trump sat for a seven-hour interview with the New York attorney general’s office in April, part of the civil fraud case against him and his company.

“I think you would have nuclear holocaust, if I didn’t deal with North Korea,” he explained, and then added: “And I think you might have a nuclear war now, if you want to know the truth.”

But then when Covid-19 hit us, all he could do was to all it a HOAX.

Here are a couple of noteworthy exchanges.

Asked about policies and procedures to ensure that the Trump Organization complies with the law, he said: “That’s why we have law firms. You know, we have law firms that do this.”

MR. TRUMP: And friends of mine have said, you are the most honest person in the world. So we’ve done a good job. Don’t get credit for it. That’s OK.

Now we know where he got the idea of calling his media site Truth Social.

Depositions are often contentious, and there were a few highlights from the exchanges between Mr. Wallace and lawyers for Mr. Trump, Christopher M. Kise and Alina Habba.

CHRISTOPHER M. KISE: We’re going to be here until midnight if you keep asking questions that are all over the map.

MR. WALLACE: Chris, we’re going to be here until midnight if your client answers every question with an eight-minute speech. So let’s get down to business.

Meanwhile legal eagles say Rump is in violation of copyright law by hawking merch with his mugshot on them. The image they say actually belongs to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office. They could sue him for all the money he's raised for violating their copyright.

Another Artie moment. I thought anything in the public domain is public but not so here.

As a general principle, the owner of a photo’s copyright is the person (or entity) who takes that photo, not its subject. In federal criminal cases, the U.S. government is not permitted to own the copyright to booking photos, so they are considered in the public domain. However, that is generally not the case with mug shots taken in state and local criminal proceedings.

Fulton County Sheriff's Department should seek a ruling that anyone making a buck off of their property should have to forfeit it. It would be awesome if tRumpolini had to turn over any proceeds from the sales. I'm sure the sheriff's dept. could make use of the funds.
