No Mike, I'm saying you don't have your facts straight as usual... Here's a link that works.

"The mother, who The News is not naming to protect the son, said the criminal complaint she and her son filed Saturday with the Madison Heights Police Department involves an incident between her 18-year-old son and Pugh on May 31 in that city."

So, the young man was an adult at the time of the incident? If so, then there is no issue.

BTW, What is the "age of consent" in Michigan? Here, in Virginia, it's 16.

The young man turned 18 in February from what I can tell and the alleged incident happened May. So, yes the young man was legally an adult.

Then why is this BS even in the news?

My guess is a "potentially" large lawsuit and that the alleged scandal sells newspapers for the Detroit News. I have no idea what Mike's interest is in this, he's playing coy. Very interesting.

Oh, my facts are straight. You gotta read the whole story, Bob.

"Pugh was a mentor to the teen through Frederick Douglass Academy in Detroit and first met him in September when he was 17, the mother said."

"The attorneys alleged that Pugh gave him gifts, including a $350 cell phone and clothes for prom, and took him out of class without his mother's permission. The lawyers have said they have text messages between Pugh and the teen."

So, the allegation is that Pugh used his position to gain access to schools as a mentor, and met this kid under a mentor program, then preyed upon the kid. And frankly, Bob, I don't give a flying f%@k if the kid is 17 or just turned 18, he's still a kid.

Also, the initial news reports about the text messages is that when the mom first read them, she thought some girl was sending suggestive text messages to her son, until she figured out who they were from.

Legally, the only thing that matters is adulthood and/or age of consent.

Or, is this another one of those, "I don't give a hoot what the law says, this violates my values so I want him fried.", sort of things?

Again; What is the age of consent in MI?
