A Republican has carried the State of Kansas since Ike Eisenhower.

Biden is not even under consideration. The Koch's are going to spend $17 million against Trump. That's a lot of money.

The 40% loyal Trumpkins are going to rebel against the Koch PAC, unless they cave in.

It's a mess.

The fact that a given state is reliably one party or the other is hardly a new or threatening phenomena. Indeed, it's largely true for most states other than the so-called "swing" states of which there are only seven.

As for some rich conservatives opposing Trump, all I can say is that it's about time.

Very interesting.

Did you notice that your link does not mention the crux of the 2000 election, that it went to the US Supreme Court for a decision ? It's language makes reference to that year being something of a 'watershed', before and after.
