The Repubs will keep this going until they succeed or they're driven from power. Any giving up and they know they'll lose all the power and position they now have for a long long time. Witness their backing of the big lie. Witness their demonizing of the entire democratic party. Witness their embrace of tRump like candidates and any wing nuts that rile up the base. If the majority of the country comes to realize what they're up to and turns on them they're finished.

Seems to me the ONLY way to stop this is to elect a Dem Senate this midterm that won't be filibustered. Then they can reign in Supreme Court.

How did so many Americans come to believe what the Republican Party is doing is a good thing? The frog in a pot of water on a stove analogy comes to mind. At first froggy thinks he's in a nice warm place. By the time he realizes what's going on it's too late to jump out.

Yep, most minds are slow to adjust their thinking. For most of most people's lives, the Republican party has been more or less respectable, as one of our two major parties. It takes a while for it to sink in that they have become fascist enemies of democracy.
