US soldier Travis King flees to North Korea

What's he feeling around here on this? I've read where talks are beginning for his return to U.S. custody. I say what's to talk about. He went of his own free will so let them have him. I don't seem him as starting a trend. If they wish to return him, well make us an offer.

He bailed to get away from punishment for having been in a fight. Fuck him. At most, give Baby Kim another photo op with Dennis Rodman.

My feelings exactly. In fact I don't see why we should bail out travelers who 'accidentally' cross the border illegally into a country or those who get caught with drugs in their possession.

A bit of a difference here. This guy fled there to escape something here. I don't care what they with or to him. He forfeited his citizenship with that act. N-L-O-P

Griner case was obviously a Putin dick move with no substance for political leverage, it wasn't like she was a drug mule or kingpin.

Perhaps, but there are countries for which one should know that you simply don't bring weed over their borders (e.g., Singapore).

it wasn't weed, see previous post. Whatever the reason to go there, Putin's increasingly capricious authoratarianism makes going there increasingly risky, they will create what serves their purpose out of anything and nothing, they simply are not trustworthy for visitors or citizens, regardless of potential possibilities of gain at this time, tourism included.
