Taxes 2018?

OK, that time once again returned.

With the tax reform passed and in effect for 2018 now being a tangible reality for all of us in the U.S.A. to deal with.

So just how are you going to fare this year?

I do not know so far. Dropped the taxes off last week and have not heard back yet.

What has me perplexed, if it was a tax cut, or break then why, just why are the tax payers being blamed for a poor return?
Blamed for not upping their deductions last year if they wanted a return now?
If it was truly a cut then they should be receiving even more RIGHT?

Like I stated have not received mine back.
Will post once they have been.

Sideshow Don doesn't do details. Besides, taxes are for the little people.

A few hundred dollars less withheld this year, but when I did my taxes via Intuit (as I have done for years), it told me I owed a penalty for underpayment! This was apparently due to the moron administration sending out faulty withholding tables to corporations. Sigh.

I always have taxes due on investments, which usually return more than my paycheck, but payroll tax usually evens out pretty well. Intuit had me take the standard deduction this year for the first time ever, because of the Repubes' hateful tax "reform", which penalizes Blue states by disallowing writeoffs for state taxes.

Both the Wife and I are getting SS and withhold from it thru out the year. The state taxes we pay it quarterly at a figured amount and hold off on the rental payments. That amount we figure now. We always pay more through out the year, use any refund to help with the property taxes.....

Her Union stipend is taxed before we get it along with my retirement from the airline.

Talked to the tax guy last year about this time and he told us what to set the withholding at. Then we went for a little extra.

Picking them up today. Mixed bag from what I know so far.
Do not owe, that is a relief.
Getting back 15% less federal and state will have a small refund. Where last year we had to pay a few hundred.
Will see if someone hacked us again. Had t use a PIN when filing due to it happening last year.
