Isn't it strange that other countries can provide universal healthcare witout all the BS and hand wringing.

Not hard to foresee something that has already existed for years.
The only difference being private vs. public sector death panels.

A living will and a DNR code (do not resucitate) are sort of the same thing....daily occurence in all hospitals. I think the death panels are closer to us than we realize. Not to cause a major conflagration here at PC but children deciding end of life care for parents can be described as a panel.

Ouch.

The Republicans are going to take away the 500,000 new insurance policies provided by the ACA so far?

yeah right.

the baggers love the ACA. Like a black President it gives them something to live for....plus a great impetus for campaign contributions.

Obamacare can be a little dinghy floating on the ocean for the next three years but guess what no one will be able to sink it.

The ACA sucks! Long Live The ACA!

That's right. She went around the country pointing out the obvious while the dems went around denying it, and deliberately lying to the citizens.

Brave new world. Not that long ago we didn't have the need.

I prefer private: a government panel will not be able to say no without public outcry. It will bankrupt us even faster.

Boy...that outcry has fallen on deaf ears, eh......

How long have people with life threatening ailments been denied health insurance for the very reason they need it?

(can I get a BAM)

Um, BAM ?

I don't mean denial of coverage, I'm thinking more along the lines of experimental procedures etc.

Oh come on we all know that the reason hospitals will take extreme measures to keep you alive is just for $$$$$$$$$$.

So Johnny Boy wants to kill ACA to protect the people. I swear that if you put a flashlight aginst one of his ears the beam would shine out of the other one. Pete you just might be righ about the state of Ohio's schools. Best healthcare in the world my arse. Four and a half hours sitting in the Waiting (Emergency?) Room to get an Ultrasound. Next day another four and a half fro blood tests, and they made me put on a hospital gown to do a blood test????. Then it took another half hour for Florence to finally get someone to say 'Oh the tests were fine he can get dressed.'

Whenever someone includes "...we all know..." in a sentence, I invariably find that whatever follows is bull shit.

When my mom had a aneurysm in 2007 and was placed in the ICU, none of the docs or hospital staff showed any concern about revenue. They were concerned with my mom's life and her care. When it came time to make the decision to disconnect her from life support, and there was clearly no realistic medical hope of recovery, no one from the hospital tried to talk me out of it because there were a few more potential revenue generating procedures that they wanted to try first.

Sheesh!
