All is fair in love and war, and this is a racial/cultural war. Religionis good only if you are a Christian. Voting is encouraged only if you are white. They cannot win an economic war, so all they have left is race and religion and its fear based, loss of power never to be regained.

On this day, the last of 2021 how is your area weathering the wave at this time?

Yesterday had two independent people relate what it is like at the local hospitals.

Long wait times due to the crowds of sick people. Hours of waiting, full to overflow and beyond. No beds sending home everyone except the extremely ill.

Both of the people I know of, two different sources. Not related at all. Both knew they probably had covid for days. Denying it until unable to breathe and fearing death go to the hospital.

Yes a safe guess not vaccinated.

Terms like a war zone and a madhouse corridors of sick people used to describe the conditions. Informed all the local hospitals were in the same shape, no need to drive to another hospital.....

Both were pissed off they got sent home after seeing the staff.
Not any beds for them.

One of them was last week complaining about the company requiring a vaccine for employment!

So folks don't get sick and need to see a Doctor right now in the Derby!

Many area hospitals here are implementing crisis standards of care protocols. Contingency Standards of Care protocols are used in times of emergency, when the demand for healthcare is reaching a critical point of exceeding the ability of the health system to provide it without instituting special measures. Local hospitals are seeing more cases than last winter.
A good friend of mine told me a couple of days ago that he had Covid again. This despite having Covid last year and being vaccinated this year. He hadn't gotten the booster yet tho'. Last week he told me he thought he had a cold by the symptoms he had. Turns out that his daughter that lives with him had the bug and suggested he get tested and sure enough he was positive. Because of the relatively mild symptoms it might be the Omicron mutation.

That is why wearing a mask is so important right now. Many of the vaccinated are carriers infecting the non vaccinated. Even if I have no symphony for those who have chosen the path of stupidly.

Thinking of where we would be if the percentage was close to 100% right now is depressing.

Thinking of where we would be now if the outbreak was attacked aggressively from the beginning is depressing.

I'm ready for another booster shot. I don't give a flip about being sick for a few days.

If you're looking for an omicron booster, the Johnson and Johnson one turns out to be special good for it

Looking like it is shaping up to be a ongoing ordeal. Will be something to get use to. I'm hoping that this surge will make believers out of deniers. Those who survive anyway.
