We all need to be Dave. It's not even paper money anymore, it's all electronic including transactions and you get charged fees coming and going, sometimes without your knowledge. Imagine the possibilities!

I read them in my 30's when I was still a conservative and I thought they were awesome. I have since seen the error of my ways.

What do you call voluntary payments into a rigged retirement system where only wall street brokers make money?

At least with the forced plan you're guaranteed to get something back.

You know the government has never missed one of my social security payments. They are always on time. I don't know of anyone that has had one missed or late although I suppose it has happened on rare occasions.

On the other hand do you have any idea how many private companies have welched on their retirement plans and left their former employees out in the cold? A shitload.

So who do you think I trust more?

The Government?

Or the fucking free market?

Not only that Tom but you and I as taxpayers get to give them 40 cents on the dollar through the Guaranteed Benefit Plan or whatever they call it. Bell Canada has been paying my pension for 31 years now.

The fees are stupid too. Fer instance, getting charges when you do a fund transfer between accounts. You do it online, it's all electronic, so where is the cost?

Yeah, thanks for mentioning that.

The Free marketers get to dump the cost of their failures on the government, which ends up being paid for by all of us.

I love it when the bastards tell people; "You're money is gone." As if it simply disappeared. No, it goes somewhere and the case is usually that one or more of them STOLE it. "Sorry guys, but your retirement fund has vanished. Hey, do you like my new Ferrari?"
