Bob is visiting Catalina Island (or was) and probably has no clue as to which way the wind is blowing.

I am hoping that the GOP pollsters could only reach the old white people who actually answer their landline phones
instead of screening them like all the younger people do while texting on their smartphones. Sort of like that poll of all telephone owners in 1948 who said they were going to vote against Truman. Or was it air passengers?

I think the Democrats hold on with a tie myself.

I think that's probably why the "Romney Landslide" never materialized.

There was also one poll I think back in the 1930's where they got their sample from motor vehicle license records. And of course a whole shitload of poor people didn't own cars back then so the poll was way off.

I've heard that they adjust for cell phones somehow. However during the 2012 election I must have been polled at least 10 times on my landline (being in a swing state like Florida can suck sometimes), and I never once got a single poll call on my cell phone.

Still, all that aside, the Democrats have a huge structural disadvantage this year, and they historically suck at mid-term turnout. So overall things look kind of bleak for us good guys.

Old white people here have yet to be called by a pollster.
