Not sure, OTA TV coverage here really sucks for local coverage in my city and the real issues for me are the local ones.
If the GOP does do as they are supposed to it will be interesting to see if after the "honeymoon" it is back to obstruction because it won them the seats.

I'll be watching the PBS Newshour coverage on TV and supplementing with internet searches on my laptop.

What won the GOP seats is the big wins by the Dems in 2008. The Dems had many more seats in play than the GOP. That combined with an off year election and it would have been an upset to not see GOP gains.

Oh, is that the spin for this election cycle? Sorta skirts the central issue of the consistent polling that suggests an electorate that isn't pleased with the current direction the gov't is heading. It also skirts the issue of Dems who didn't want Obama anywhere near them on the campaign trail.

But, if it helps you through the night, then by all means drink that Kool Aid.

...just keep the sharp objects in the drawer.

If Charlie Crist wins in Florida, I'll consider it a good night for me.

He'll still be President of the United States tomorrow morning, in any case. And good and bad as they may be, he'll never do 1/100th of the harm of the toxic idiot that preceded him.

But the United States of Amnesia has pretty much forgotten about that.

Well, let's look at a Republican news source:

Quote:
New GDP numbers show the economy growing at 3.5 percent, which is better than consensus forecasts. It's the last portrait of the economy before Election Day.
WASHINGTON — The US economy grew at steady pace of 3.5 percent in the third quarter, a sign of progress against a backdrop of concerns about slow wage growth and difficulties for the wider global economy.

The growth estimate, released by the Commerce Department Thursday, is also significant because it’s the final overview of the economy to come out before Americans cast ballots in elections next Tuesday.

In polls, likely voters continue to rank the economy and jobs above other priorities affecting their vote – as they have done for the past six years. In a new Christian Science Monitor/TIPP poll, 81 percent of registered voters say the economy is a "high priority" as they weigh the candidates.
Fairly or unfairly, many voters take a dim view of President Obama’s handling of economic policy – a factor that weighs on Democrats’ hopes of retaining control of the US Senate.

The job market is still not back to normal some six years into Mr. Obama’s presidency. But unemployment has been falling steadily. And the new gross domestic product (GDP) numbers come along with signs of improving sentiment among workers and consumers.

“The expansion is becoming more and more self-sustaining, and we forecast that real GDP will grow roughly 3 percent … in both 2015 and 2016,” writes global economist Jay Bryson of Wells Fargo’s economics team.

I do wonder why is it the party that wants to eliminate the minimum wage is this popular when wages suck so bad?
