As the ‘King of Debt,’ Trump borrowed to build his empire. Then he began spending hundreds of millions in cash.

Quote:
n the nine years before he ran for president, Donald Trump’s company spent more than $400 million in cash on new properties — including 14 transactions paid for in full, without borrowing from banks — during a buying binge that defied real estate industry practices and Trump’s own history as the self-described “King of Debt.”

Trump’s vast outlay of cash, tracked through public records and totaled publicly here for the first time, provides a new window into the president’s private company, which discloses few details about its finances.

It shows that Trump had access to far more cash than previously known, despite his string of commercial bankruptcies and the Great Recession’s hammering of the real estate industry.

Why did the “King of Debt,” as he has called himself in interviews, turn away from that strategy, defying the real estate wisdom that it’s unwise to risk so much of one’s own money in a few projects?

And how did Trump — who had money tied up in golf courses and buildings — raise enough liquid assets to go on this cash buying spree?

From the outside, it is difficult to assess how much cash the Trump Organization has on hand.
Where did all this ca$h come from? Sounds very fishy to me. One thing Mueller's team is very good at is following the money and one wonders if this is what is taking Mueller's team this long, not just the collusion but the money laundering. Manafort and Cohen have been cornered and need to see what they have been hiding.

So what could the Dotard possibly be of guilty of? Collusion, money laundering and campaign finance violation? And he calls this a witch hunt?

Read this lengthy profile of Cohen to get an idea of the sleaziness and criminality Cohen (and likely Trump) are wrapped up in.

That Times magazine is forced to address the deficiencies of the FBI indicates that Fox News is effective.

Tucker Carlson has evolved.

This has nothing to do with Russian and English. I know you are well informed. Read the magazine's cover story. May 14,2018.

I think the FBI has always been a combination of brilliant and bureaucratic. They hire the best and the brightest they can, and have done a pretty good job of maintaining a culture of excellence, for a government agency. But the effects of brainless bureaucratic procedure, and the civil service's penchant for turning human beings into drones, cannot be wholly negated.

Obama’s popularity is rising even as Trump is president

https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/nat...TYI/story.html

The current president* is a disgrace. McCain won’t allow the moron to attend his funeral. Only white nationalists and fools like Whell love the SOB. He’s making Obama even more popular than he was while in office.

Donald Trump spent much of his first year in office attempting to erase Obama’s policy legacy, but experts, backed by loads of anecdotal evidence, say Trump’s unconventional and often divisive conduct has actually deepened the connection to Obama for liberals and independents. As the current president spent 2017 buffeted by scandals and igniting Twitter controversies, Obama seemed to increasing numbers a throwback to simpler political times, more deeply admired by those who find Trump ever more deeply objectionable.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday morning questioned whether he should “take away credentials?” for the “fake news” media who publish negative stories about his administration.

Donny lies about military pay raises

https://www.militarytimes.com/pay-be...s-for-a-decade

Cadet Bone Spurs lies yet again.

WASHINGTON — Speaking to a crowd of military spouses on Wednesday, President Donald Trump incorrectly claimed that his administration gave servicemembers their first pay raise in 10 years, a moment he was “proud” to oversee.

In fact, troops have seen a pay raise of at least 1 percent every year for more than 30 years. The 2018 military pay raise — which was 2.4 percent — was the largest for the armed forces in eight years.
