Wonder how the patriots would have fared against the loyalists without arms in that revolution.

Dunno really, using non-conventional tactics against a predictable opponent certainly made a difference with what was available.
I think the 2nd was influenced by the Colonists' relationship with the Crown, not much worry about the Queen quartering troops in our homes without consent here nowadays.

The French made sure we were well armed.
How's it going up there in the PNW, Marc? Freaky weather.

Well aside from the high temperatures and the fact that central Oregon is burning up all around me, things are well. I was able to find a decent job over here after commuting over the mountain every week for a year. The place is coming along nice. New paint and decks. Planted a few thousand square feet of lawn. Getting ready to build a couple fences. Just living life.
Want to put a 4' wood fence and some mulch behind the lawn. Should be a nice view from the back yard then.

Looks like paradise to me, man.
BTW, just found an old friend in Grant's Pass that I haven't talked to in a couple of decades. Might be heading up there soon for a visit after I get a new knee.

Noticed you have cages around the bushes?

Deer and other critters will eat them, I expect.

I sometimes think seeing an attempt at an armed insurrection would be amusing. OTOH, if they became frequent I would imagine the annihilations could gain some mass public sympathy.

'Without arms' you might have seen less of the violent, oppressive action characteristic of 'patriot' treatment of those unwilling to publicly embrace the revolution.
