Legalize It!

"Cannabis policy reform could be coming to Kentucky with the filing of separate bills to legalize medical and adult-use cannabis.

On Thursday, Democrats Sen. David Yates, Sen. Morgan McGarvey, and Rep. Rachel Roberts introduced identical bills in the Kentucky Senate and House of Representatives to end cannabis prohibition. Titled the L.E.T.T.S. Grow Act (House Bill 521 and Senate Bill 186), the bill would legalize both medical and recreational cannabis." Hi Times

Puff, puff, pass...

Maybe some of that infamous Harlan Christmas Tree weed will hit the market. Think NI might become a grower?

About time!

Sell it, tax and move on...

Central Ky use to be a top producer of legal hemp. (For rope one)

Figured by the time I was approaching my seventh decade it would already be legal across the whole nation.

The House on Friday passed legislation that would remove marijuana from the federal schedule of controlled substances, a move that comes as an increasing number of states have passed decriminalization laws.

"The measure, H.R. 3617, is known as the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act, or the MORE Act. The House passed similar legislation in December 2020, but it was not brought up for a vote in the Senate, which was controlled by Republicans at the time.

Friday’s 220-to-204 vote largely took place along partisan lines, with only three Republicans joining most Democrats to back the legislation. Two Democrats voted “no.”

It remains unclear whether the latest measure will receive a vote in the Senate. The White House has not yet issued a statement on whether President Biden supports the legislation. A group of Senate Democrats including Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (N.Y.) and Sens. Cory Booker (N.J.) and Ron Wyden (Ore.) is expected to release draft marijuana legislation later this month." Still needs 60 votes in the Senate. Highly unlikely the GOPpers will play along.

The GOP is having too much fun in its coke-fueled orgies to want to address less attractive intoxicants.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Adding his voice to the movement to legalize cannabis at the federal level, Dr. Anthony Fauci testified that marijuana could be helpful to people who have to listen to Senator Ted Cruz speak.

“Medically speaking, there is no way to completely alleviate the pain of hearing Ted Cruz’s voice,” Fauci told the Senate. “But, anecdotally, I can tell you that marijuana helps.”

Never heard of it and I'm in cannabis central. Been puffing ganja since '67.
